Acknowledgement of Support

This program is supported by both prefectural and local governments of Hokkaido, and particularly the Hokkaido Education Committee, the City of Hakodate, and the Hakodate Education Committee. It has also received support through the Japan Foundation, the Mitsubishi Bank Foundation, Sanwa Bank Foundation, Commemorative Association for the Japan World Exposition, and other groups.
The program has grown through the commitment of many hundreds of people involved in all aspects of international educational exchange. In recognition for its contribution to international understanding, Hokkaido International Foundation was awarded the Minister of Foreign Affairs Commendation for 1991 and the Minister of Home Affairs Commendation for 1998.
